The name puts peptide on equal billing with lipids, and the brand's description gives each a percentage. Read against the declaration, the two halves of the name are not the same size. The lipid half is several ingredients across the list. The peptide half is one ingredient, and it is rice.
The three blocks, mapped to the label
Skinfix describes the formula in three parts. The brand's published list, formula code 2422, lets each be found:

A supplier "solution" is mostly carrier. Cosmetic actives are commonly sold dissolved or dispersed in water or glycols, and a formula percentage for the solution is not the percentage of active inside it. Our SNAP-8 entry sets out that arithmetic with a supplier's own figures: 10% of that solution is about 0.005% peptide. The brand does not state how much peptide its 3% solution contains, and the label position — 25th, after pentylene glycol at 21 and all three ceramides — is consistent with a small amount.
What hydrolyzed rice protein is
It is rice protein cut into a mixture of peptide fragments of varying length. That makes it a different kind of ingredient from the peptides this site usually covers:
- It is not a defined molecule. Palmitoyl tripeptide-1 or acetyl hexapeptide-8 each have one structure and one weight in PubChem. A protein hydrolysate has neither, so there is no weight to set against the 500-dalton penetration heuristic and no single sequence to study.
- It is not a signal peptide. Nothing on the brand's page claims it acts on collagen or muscle; it calls it a "protein-builder" that helps skin retain moisture, which is the conditioning role hydrolysed proteins have long had in cosmetics.
The published record on it is thin and mostly not about skin. PubMed on 2026-09-17 held 42 title-or-abstract records for hydrolyzed rice protein or rice protein hydrolysate, most of them food and nutrition work. Restricted to skin, topical or cosmetic terms, three remain:
- A laboratory study (Molecules 2021) measuring free-radical scavenging and inhibition of two enzymes, hyaluronidase and tyrosinase, by rice protein hydrolysates in test tubes. Half-inhibition of tyrosinase needed 107.6 mg/mL of hydrolysate solution. No skin, no people.
- A laser case series (J Drugs Dermatol 2018) combining diode laser lipolysis with a topical tightening treatment — the hydrolysate is not the variable.
- The Cosmetic Ingredient Review's 2006 amended safety report on rice-derived ingredients, which describes hydrolyzed rice protein as a conditioning agent and reports rice bran protein hydrolysates as not irritating or sensitizing in animal and clinical tests.
That third record is the most useful thing in the file for this product: a safety finding for a cream sold to sensitive skin. It is not evidence of barrier repair.
Where the formula's weight actually is
The top of the list is emollient. After water come caprylic/capric triglyceride, glycerin, shea butter, vegetable oil and cetyl lactate. Positions 2 to 11 are mostly oils, esters, butters and fatty alcohols, with glycerin and propanediol among them — the occlusive and emollient base that slows water loss from the skin surface.
The barrier lipids are the formula's organising idea. Ceramides, cholesterol and free fatty acids are the three main lipid classes of the stratum corneum, and the label carries all three types. The ceramides sit at 22 to 24 and cholesterol at 41, in the region our peptide serum explainer shows is at or under the 1% line, where declaration order stops carrying reliable meaning. PubMed tags 44 randomized controlled trials matching ceramides and the skin barrier, a far larger file than the peptide's.

The measurable barrier effects in this category belong to occlusives, humectants and lipids. This formula has a great deal of all three.
The brand's trial, as published
The product page reports results from a 4-week clinical trial on 35 subjects:

No control or vehicle arm, publication, study sponsor or statistical test is given. An immediate hydration rise after applying a rich cream is expected of any emollient base, which is why a vehicle comparison is the design that separates a formula's actives from its texture. Without one, none of these figures can be attributed to the peptide, the ceramides or the base. The brand also lists a consumer perception result from the same 35 people, which is a questionnaire rather than a measurement.
Two lists under one name
Third-party ingredient databases list a product with this name and an older-looking declaration that does not name ceramide NP, AP or EOP, or cholesterol. The brand's page describes the cream as the original formula re-introduced, carries a formula code, and asks readers to check packaging for the current list. A reader comparing a jar to an online list may see either. This analysis uses the brand's own list as published on 2026-09-17.
What can be read off the list
It establishes an emollient-rich base, all three stratum corneum lipid classes on the label, a conventional humectant block, and a single peptide-class ingredient — a rice protein hydrolysate — placed mid-list with a published safety assessment and no published skin-efficacy work of its own.
It does not establish what the cream does to skin, and the brand's uncontrolled trial cannot say which part of the formula did anything. We have not used it either, so the effect on skin stays an open question here.
