This product is named after an ingredient that is not a peptide and does not appear on its own ingredient list under the name on the box. Both of those facts are checkable in about two minutes, and between them they explain most of what is confusing about the category this serum leads.
What the declaration actually says
Forty ingredients are declared. The first eleven:

Search the full list for "PDRN" and you get nothing. Search it for "polydeoxyribonucleotide" and you get nothing. The ingredient is there — it is Sodium DNA, the INCI name for the sodium salt of deoxyribonucleic acid — but the word the product is sold under is not a permitted label name. Under 21 CFR 701.3(c), ingredients must be declared by their established names, and marketing terms are not established names. PDRN is a nucleic acid, not a peptide
PDRN is polydeoxyribonucleotide: a chain of nucleotides, extracted in this case from salmon DNA. A peptide is a chain of amino acids. These are not neighbouring categories with a fuzzy border; they are two different polymer classes built from two different monomer types, doing two different things in a cell.
The brand is not concealing this. Its own copy calls the ingredient a DNA component similar to human DNA and names salmon as the source. The confusion is structural rather than deceptive: the product is called a peptide serum, PDRN is the headline of the name, and a reader who assumes the headline ingredient is the peptide has made a reasonable inference from a package that does not correct it.
The peptides are real and they are separate — five of them, at positions seven to eleven. Every one has an evidence file here already: copper tripeptide-1, which is GHK-Cu, acetyl hexapeptide-8, sold as Argireline, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, the Matrixyl peptide, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7.
The one percent that checks out
The brand states 10,000 ppm of salmon PDRN. That is 1.0 percent — the arithmetic is direct, since parts per million divided by ten thousand gives percent.
It is worth doing because the figure lands exactly on the regulatory line. 21 CFR 701.3(f)(2) lets ingredients present at not more than 1 percent be listed without respect to order of predominance. Sodium DNA sits at position five; the peptides sit at six through eleven, in the tail where order stops being required to carry information. The published percentage and the published list are consistent with each other, which is not always the case and is worth saying when it is.
What follows from it is the ordinary constraint: the five peptides are each at 1 percent or less, individually unquantified, exactly as on every other peptide product. Our peptide serum page works through why that ceiling is all a label can give you.
Where the PDRN research actually lives
This is the part that changes how the ingredient should be read, and it is a counting exercise anyone can repeat.

Two hundred and nineteen papers is a real literature. The question is what it is a literature about.
Both randomized skin trials administered PDRN by injection. One is a 2025 Aesthetic Plastic Surgery study of botulinum neurotoxin and polydeoxyribonucleotide injections for acne scars — a combination, injected. The other is a 2001 Current Medical Research and Opinion pilot on the trophic effect of PDRN in patients undergoing skin explants. Neither is a test of a serum.
The twenty-five topical-or-cosmetic records are a mixed set: radiation-induced oral mucositis, corneal epithelial healing in mice, genital lichen sclerosus, post-cauterisation cervical therapy from 1989 and 1990, and a cluster of recent laboratory papers on plant- and algae-derived polydeoxyribonucleotides in cell culture.
The closest thing to the product's own use case is a 2022 paper in Molecules testing a topical liquid of PDRN, vitamin C and niacinamide. Three things about it matter, and all three are in the abstract: it was run in UV-B irradiated animals, not humans; it tested the three actives as a mixture, so nothing in the result can be assigned to PDRN; and it was delivered through a microneedling therapy system, which perforates the barrier that the topical question exists to ask about. So the honest summary of the evidence position: PDRN has a substantial clinical literature built on injecting it, and an essentially absent one on spreading it on undamaged skin. A serum is the second thing.
What this formula establishes
It establishes an ingredient list that is accurate and a product name that is not descriptive. It establishes five peptides, each at 1 percent or less, each with its own separately documented evidence. It establishes 1 percent of a salmon-derived DNA fragment whose research record is about a different route of administration.
It does not establish what the serum does on a face, and this page makes no claim about that. We have not used it. What a formula can tell you is what is in the bottle and what has been published about those things — and here, the most useful sentence available is the simplest one: the molecule on the front of the package is not a peptide.
